Part-Time Online Hifz Program for School Kids and Working Adults

Want your child to memorize the Quran without leaving school, or want to start Hifz yourself around a full-time job? Here is how a part-time online Hifz program works, which plan fits your week, and what it costs.

Most families in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia can't send a child to a full-time Hifz school, and most adults can't step away from work. That does not have to mean giving up on Hifz. A part-time program, with a short one-on-one class and a little practice at home, lets students memorize steadily alongside everything else.

This guide is for parents comparing options, and for adults deciding whether they can fit it in. If you want to see how the method works in detail, read our guide to how an online Hifz program works. If you are ready to look at class times and the trial, our hifz program page has everything in one place.

Who a part-time Hifz program suits

  • School-age children who read the Mushaf fluently and can give 30 minutes after school, plus a little practice before bed.
  • Teens with a busy school year, sports or exams, who need a fixed slot that does not move every week.
  • Working adults who want to memorize surahs for Salah, a juz, or work slowly towards the whole Quran.
  • Sisters and mothers who want to learn at home with a female teacher, at a time that suits the family.
  • Huffaz at college or at work who need a listener to keep their revision strong.

Children who are still learning to read should start with our online Quran classes for kids first. Memorizing from shaky reading means memorizing mistakes, so the teacher will only move a child into Hifz once reading is ready.

The routine in plain words: new lesson, recent revision, old revision

Every Hifz class, full-time or part-time, has the same three parts. They have traditional names, but the idea is simple:

  • Sabaq (the new lesson): a small new portion the student prepared at home and now recites to the teacher from memory.
  • Sabqi (recent revision): the last several lessons, recited together so they stay joined up.
  • Manzil (old revision): a rotating share of everything memorized earlier, so older surahs are not forgotten.

In a 30-minute part-time class, all three fit in, in that order. At home, short practice of about 15 to 30 minutes a day keeps it going: reading the next new lesson several times and reciting recent lessons once aloud. For children, a parent listening for five minutes in the evening helps a lot. The teacher sets the size of each new lesson, so it never gets ahead of revision.

Monday–Friday, weekends or fewer days: which fits your family?

We teach 24/7, 7 days a week, so you can book a time in your own time zone and choose your own days. The most common choices:

Monday–FridayWeekends or fewer days
WhenA fixed slot on school days or work days, often right after school, after Fajr or late evening.Saturday and Sunday, 3 days a week, or other days that suit the family.
Best forStudents who want daily contact with the Quran, which suits new memorization best.Families with packed weekdays, and adults who work long hours or shifts.
Home practiceShort daily practice between classes.More revision at home between classes, so each class can move forward.

Classes are one-on-one. Our listed prices are for Monday–Friday plans; for weekends, longer classes or a different number of days, message our team and we’ll work out the fee for your schedule. You can change your days later if your week changes.

If you are unsure, start with the schedule you can keep for months, not the one that looks fastest on paper. In Hifz, steady beats intense. For US families, our page on online Quran classes in the USA shows class times by time zone.

Choosing the right teacher, including a female teacher

The teacher matters more than anything else in a Hifz program. Look for someone who listens to every ayah you recite from memory, corrects Tajweed as you go, keeps a clear record of your revision and explains things in clear English.

Students keep the same teacher, who gets to know their voice and the parts they find hard. Girls and women can choose a female Quran teacher online for the whole program, at no extra cost: just pick “Female” on the trial form. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons, and if the match does not feel right after the trial, you can ask for a different teacher.

How progress is tracked

Part-time students need clear tracking, because there is less class time to notice when revision starts to slip. In our program:

  • The teacher logs every class: what was memorized, what was revised and what needs extra work.
  • Each month you receive a progress report covering new memorization, how strong the revision is, Tajweed points to work on and the goals for next month.
  • Milestones, such as finishing a surah, a juz or Juz Amma, are agreed together, and a course completion certificate is given when a program is finished.
  • The teacher reviews the pace with you and shrinks the new lesson when revision needs more time.

We don't promise finish dates. How long Hifz takes depends on age, reading, daily practice and consistency, and for most part-time students the whole Quran takes several years. A first goal such as Juz Amma is a much shorter commitment.

What a part-time Hifz program costs

Hifz uses the same plans as every course, with no extra charge for Hifz or for a female teacher: $45 a month (Flex Monthly), $40 a month billed $240 every 6 months (Half-Year Saver) or $35 a month billed $420 a year (Annual Best Value). These listed plans are Monday to Friday, with 20 one-on-one classes a month, 30 minutes each. For weekends, longer classes or a different number of days, message our team and we’ll work out the fee for your schedule. There is no contract, and siblings each keep their own one-on-one class.

Advanced reciters who prefer 60-minute sessions with a native Arab teacher can buy hour packs from $15 an hour: Starter 5 for $75, Core 10 for $130 and Intensive 20 for $220. Every new student starts with a 3-day free trial, with no card and no advance payment; you pay only after the trial, and only if you decide to continue. See the full fees and plans.

FAQ

Part-time hifz program online: FAQ

Can my child do Hifz online without leaving school?

Yes. A part-time program fits around school: 30-minute one-on-one classes on the days you choose, plus about 15 to 30 minutes of practice at home.

Are weekend-only Hifz classes enough?

It can work, especially for revision and for busy families. Weekend students do more of their revision at home during the week, so each class can move forward. Daily contact suits new memorization best, so many children study Monday to Friday. For weekend classes, message our team and we’ll work out the fee for your schedule.

Can a working adult join a part-time hifz program?

Yes. Adults often choose an early-morning, lunchtime or late-evening slot, or weekends, and many start with surahs they want for Salah.

Is there a female teacher for Hifz?

Yes. Girls and women can choose a certified female teacher for the whole program at no extra cost.

How much does a part-time online Hifz program cost?

The same as every course: $45 a month, $40 a month billed $240 every 6 months, or $35 a month billed $420 a year, for 20 one-on-one classes a month, Monday to Friday. For weekends or other days, our team works out the fee for your schedule. It starts with a 3-day free trial with no card and no advance payment.
